Industrial Coating Bid and Specification Review
A structured intake path for solicitations, coating schedules, drawings, addenda and project constraints.
Build the Scope Before the Price
A coating bid should identify exactly what is included: asset quantities, preparation standards, coating products, number of coats, target film thickness, access, containment, repairs, inspection and closeout.
Documents Reviewed
- Invitation to bid, RFQ or RFP
- Technical specifications and coating schedules
- Drawings, asset lists and photographs
- Addenda and pre-bid questions
- Site rules and safety requirements
- Bid forms, alternates and unit prices
Clarify Interfaces
Scope gaps commonly occur around scaffolding, insulation removal, repairs, waste handling, temporary facilities, power, water, transport, touch-up after erection and owner inspection. Assumptions should be stated rather than buried.
Schedule and Sequencing
Lead times, access dates, shutdowns, cure windows, handling and return-to-service requirements influence labor and system feasibility. Alternates can be evaluated only when allowed by the owner and coating manufacturer.
